With its conference theme “Old and new spaces of the automotive industry: towards a new balance,” the 2014 Gerpisa conference focuses on the developing differences in many domains facing the automotive industry. In this paper we address the collision course path of the automotive leadership (both OEMs and suppliers) and the de-automobilisation mindset of younger consumers in Japan.
