Résumé:

The papers included in this special issue have been selected from the contributions presented at the 16th GERPISA international conference 'The automobile industry and sustainable development: concepts and doctrines, public policies and company strategies'. The automobile industry is facing a new economic, technological and political environment. The potential scarcity of future energy resources and escalating fears about climate change have become powerful forces for change in the industry, even if the regulatory impact of the policy response to these issues as yet remains unclear.
