The designing of organization to manage knowledge creation and coordination was discussed. The automobile industry had reached a stage of technological maturity where the search for productivity gains was decreased. The production of new knowledge mobilizes more financial and human resources ahead of the 'new economy' giants. The technological change intimates a need for new competencies in maintenanceand repair due to diffusion of telematics. Programs underlying structural changes in auto industry were the emergence of new type of knowledge, globalization trends and redefinition of social compromises.
