3 - In this respect, Ford may be cosidered to be a typical
case of trans-regional configuration (Bélis-Bergouignan, Bordenave, Lung, 1994).
4 - The quota was 30,000 units in 1992 and 37,000 in
1996.
5 - CKD (Completely Knocked Down) means that car arrives
in 7-8 macro components that will be assembled. In 1996 local content is
higher because welding and painting phases are now carried out in Poland.
6 - Daewoo owns a 10% stake in FSO.
7 - In fact there are two versions of the Cinquecento, one
with a two-cylinder (704cc) engine produced exclusively in Poland and the other
with a four cylinder (970 cc) engine which up to June, 1996 will be produced in
Italy.
